Our teachers are exceptional. Their experience in the Montessori classroom ranges from 12 to 30 years. They have worked together as a team for 12 years. All teachers have AMI and/or AMS training and credentials. The teachers have created an atmosphere of order, joy and discovery for the children. They plan lessons based on careful observation of each child. They are dedicated to helping each individual fulfill his or her unique potential.
Janice Kruse, founder of the Montessori School of Lakewood, holds an AMI 3-6 diploma and an AMS 6-12 diploma. Ms. Kruse earned a Bachelors of Psychology from the University of Colorado. She has over 30 years of experience teaching in Primary and Elementary Montessori classrooms. Ms. Kruse has served as director of the Montessori School of Lakewood since 1978.
Denise Glenn holds an AMS 3-6 diploma. Ms. Glenn earned a Bachelor in Literature and Secondary Education from Ithaca College. Ms. Glenn has served as Director of the Montessori School of Lakewood since 2000. She has over 20 years of experience teaching in Primary and Elementary Montessori classrooms. Ms. Glenn has been a primary teacher at the Montessori School of Lakewood since 1991.
Edna Silva holds an AMS 3-6 diploma. Ms. Silva has over 12 years of experience in the Primary Montessori classroom. She has worked at the Montessori School of Lakewood since 1998.
